As someone who cruises frequently, it was refreshing to see a range of dining options on Allure of the Seas not found as commonly on other Royal Caribbean ships. I preferred my meals at Samba Grill and Sabor on Allure of the Seas much more than my dining experience at Wonderland (which can be found on other Oasis Class ships). On Allure of the Seas you’ll find interior staterooms, oceanview rooms, balcony cabins, and suites. Other Oasis Class cruise ships have features like water slides, the Ultimate Abyss dry slide, Royal Caribbean’s newest restaurants, and escape rooms. Families flock to Allure of the Seas, a ship that celebrates youthful exuberance in the form of surf simulators, rock climbing walls and some of the best children's facilities at sea. But the ship also clearly appeals to active couples, mainly in their 30s to 50s.

The Allure of the Seas is the largest, newest and most incredible ship at sea.

The Solarium on Deck 15 forward also offers a pool for anyone 16 or older. It's small and was so crowded on my sailing that you could hardly move. Bow & Stern is Allure of the Seas' English-style pub, found on Deck 5 in the Royal Promenade. Made to feel dark and wooden like a stereotypical local, it serves a decent selection of beers, cocktails (including ones made with beer), whiskey and scotch.

This neighborhood on the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas cruise ship is filled with the large casino, show lounges, and theaters. Before they eat, some might want to try one of the two 43-foot tall rock climbing walls. The Allure of the Seas Boardwalk neighborhood is aft on deck 6. When you enter the Boardwalk, the beautiful carousel greeting you certainly brings back memories of classic seaside piers like Coney Island or Atlantic City. Like the carousel on the Oasis of the Seas, the figures on this one were specially made for Royal Caribbean from poplar wood. The full-sized carousel features a menagerie of 18 moving figures for the riders, and there's a stationary seat for those who don't want to sit astride.

On my voyage out of Galveston, it was temporarily converted to a posh barbecue restaurant in partnership with 4 Rivers Smokehouse. Not only was the food mouthwatering — the biggest surprise was the outstanding vegan burnt ends — but the atmosphere made me feel like I was dining in the Mediterranean. You already know that Sabor is one of my absolute favorite restaurants on any cruise ship, and I was ecstatic to find that it still exists on a couple of Royal Caribbean's ships, including Allure of the Seas. I ate there twice during my voyage and stuffed myself with some of the best guacamole I've ever tasted, along with chicken tinga burritos, tortilla soup, cheese quesadillas and fish tacos.
